At APCH, every student from the age of 13 on is invited to participate in our annual confirmation program: “Know what you believe and why”.
Our Director of Youth and Children Ministry, will lead the class.
This 6 month course is designed to teach you about what it means to be a disciple of Christ and a part of His Church. Throughout the course you will cover the following topics:
- What does the Bible teach?
- What is the gospel?
- What is faith?
- What about my doubts
- What does it mean to be a Christian?
- What has happened in the history of the Christian Church?
- What are my God-given gifts and how can I join in God’s worldwide work?
To be confirmed as a member of APCH is an affirmation of your acceptance of Christ as your Savior, and your desire to be part of a life-long journey of fellowship and faith with other believers.
How does it work?
We will meet every Sunday during the 09:45AM service. You will rotate between spending one week upstairs in class and the next week attending the service which will be followed by a time of reflection on what you learned during the service and questions you might have about elements of worship. This format will balance formal Christian education with integration into the church service as you understand what it means to become a member of and worship with the whole church body.
As a confirmand you will be supported throughout this process by a group of adult volunteers who will mentor you in your faith journey.
The class will be open to students who are 13 years of age or older. The classes begin in September and run through March the following year when you will be confirmed as a member of APCH on Palm Sunday. Interested students will be required to attend every class and church service, with two excused absences. There are scheduled breaks for holidays throughout the class schedule. A calendar with the scheduled Sunday breaks will be provided.
We look forward to bringing new members into the life of APCH.
