Music and singing are important parts of worship at APCH and key ways to express our gratitude and praise for God’s love and grace. The music ministry at APCH seeks to contribute to the objectives of our church in these ways:

We sing and make music to express our love and praise God and to respond gratefully to the truth of the Word. Through our song and melody we thank Him for blessing us, acknowledging His unrelenting grace, and remembering His sacrifice for us. We sing with our lips the words that echo in our hearts, and reflect our relationship with our Lord. Joined with others, we mutually express our praise, petition, and testimony as a unified body. “is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise”. James 5:13

We sing and make music to teach Scripture and Truth. Praise songs and hymns, and sacred music are powerful tools for understanding and absorbing the themes of Scripture. Long or difficult passages set to music open new channels for understanding and help us to recite the messages of biblical truth, faith, and hope during and beyond Sunday service. Those engaged in the choir or praise band also enjoy the challenges and encouragement of Christian fellowship with each other and beyond. “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God”. Colossians 3:16

We sing and make music to testify to God’s greatness. Our songs and music not only reach upward toward God, but also outward toward people. Sung with sincerity, music expressed emotion and moves the soul in ways unmatched and, as such, is a powerful tool in witnessing to others of God’s love and grace. Activities of the Music Ministry, including the Afternoon Tea Concerts, special events, and outreaches in the area, reach beyond regular attendees, creating an opportunity to reach APCH’s neighbors and the wider community. “Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing”. Psalm 100:2
